You are Light in a dark world, and when you realize the power your light has, no darkness can stop you! It wants to break you, to define you and to make sure you never discover the power you have over it! It wants to convince you that you are a result of your actions, your likes, and your feelings. FALSE! You are not your body, your sexual preferences, your politics, your style, your possessions, or your achievements. Those things may describe you but they do not define you. The real you is not skin deep. It is spirit deep! The real you is the breath of God within you, your spirit that was written in the book of life before the world was even created! It is the part of you that belongs to your creator, and it already knows Him, even when the rest of you feels lost, confused, and broken by the World.
Stop chasing after identity through relationships, trends, opinions, and status, because you can't catch what is always changing! And the moment those things change, so does your false sense of self. But your spirit, the part of you that came from God, never changes. It is eternal. When you live from that truth, the world loses its power to define you.
So Start living life without being owned by it, because when your foundation is in the One Who created you, nothing can shake who you are!
The Truth is that before you ever tried to define yourself, God already did. He spoke your name before you were born. He knew your strengths, your struggles, and your future. “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.” — Jeremiah 1:5 You were created in the image of the Living God, not by accident but by perfect design. The world wants to sell you identity as something you have to earn, buy, or build. God offers it freely because it has always belonged to you. You are not your mistakes. You are not your anxiety, your status, or your follower count. You are His creation. Perfectly known, deeply loved, and you have a higher calling!
Chasing after your purpose will come after your understand your identity, because without knowing who you belong to, you can never truly fulfill what you are called to do! Purpose answers what you are here to do. Identity answers why you matter in the first place. When you live from the identity God gave you, your purpose naturally follows. You begin to see how your gifts, your story, and your passions all fit into His bigger plan. You stop striving to prove your worth and start living it out.

Discovering the real you is a journey and not an exercise of just trying new things or acting different, it is about understanding who you have been from the beginning, a child of God, filled with His spirit, filled His energy, yes God's energy, made for His glory and given the power to do ALL THINGS!
Steps to discover your true Identity
1 Surrender. Before a breakthrough, must come a surrender! Surrender the power that you think you have to control your life, surrender the idea that you can define who you are, because while you might be fooling others, you and God both know the truth. Before you can understand Who you really are, you must give it all back to the one who made you.
PRAYER: Father, I know that I have sinned and fallen short of who You want me to be, but I believe that through the death and resurrection of Christ, I can be forgiven and made new. Today I surrender my life to You completely. I lay down my plans, my pride, and my control, trusting You with every part of who I am.
2 Repent. After you Surrender the control and power over your life, you must also turn away from the worldly ways, a sinful heart that has been holding you back. Forgiveness is a free gift from God through the death and resurrection of His Son Jesus Christ (Yeshua). When you believe in Christ and accept that forgiveness you begin to heal and walk in the light of who God is calling you to be!
PRAYER: Father, I turn away from my old ways, and ask You to cleanse me from all sin. I believe that Your Son died for me, rose again, and lives today as my Savior and King. Fill me with Your Spirit, renew my mind, and lead me into the life You created me to live. From this moment on, I belong to You. My heart, my thoughts, my identity, and my future are Yours. With all glory, honor, and thanks to You, Amen.
3 Accept. Being a child of God, redeemed and saved through Christ, means you must accept the forgiveness and freedom you have been given. You are no longer defined by your past, your failures, or the world’s opinions. You belong to your creator, you are His child, filled with His Spirit, and designed with a greater purpose than you ever knew!
4 Ask your father. God wants his children to rely on Him daily, and ask for what they need! Pray for revelation about your true identity and purpose. Ask God to show you how He sees you and what He has created you to do. When you ask with faith, He promises to answer.
PRAYER: Father, I come to You with an open heart. I lay down everything I think I am, and I ask You to show me who You say I am. Reveal the truth of my identity, the purpose You placed within me before the world began. Help me see myself through Your eyes, not through my past, my mistakes, or the opinions of others. Fill me with Your Spirit and renew my mind so that I may walk in the confidence as a child of God.
5 Receive. After you ask, you must be willing to receive the answer! The truth that God has already spoken over your life. Believe that you are chosen, forgiven, loved, and empowered. Walk in confidence knowing that when you ask according to His will, He gives, and when you receive through faith with gratitude, you are forever changed.
Prayer: Father, Thank you Father for hearing my prayer. Help me to walk in confidence and faith that you have already answered me according to your will. Give me patience in waiting, understanding in how you answer, and gratitude in all the lessons you teach me through trails, tribulations and victories!
6 Be Still. In a noisy world, silence becomes sacred. Set aside time (15-30 minutes) each day to pray, to breathe, and to simply be still and listen. No phones, no distractions, just quite stillness! In that stillness, with time, God will begin to remind you who you truly are.
Prayer: Teach me to hear Your voice clearly, to recognize Your guidance, and to trust the path You have set before me. I thank You for creating me with purpose and for never giving up on me. In the name of your son Jesus (Yeshua), I ask and believe. Amen.
7 And Know. Your spirit recognizes what aligns with His design. Pay attention to the moments that bring peace, creativity, compassion, and truth. These are all directions pointing you towards your greater purpose!
8 Reject Labels. The world and the Enemy still want to define you, and more now than ever! It still wants to break you down and dim the light that is within you. Remember, that darkness can only exist when light is not present! So Fill your heart and mind with goodness and light, and let God define you, as chosen, forgiven, loved, unstoppable.
9 Friends matter. Find people who speak truth and push you to grow. Avoid voices that echo fear, confusion, or compromise. Freedom means leaving behind relationships that pull you away from who God says you are, and living in the victory of who He says you are!
10 Live With Purpose. Your eternal identity shapes your daily mission. Every act of kindness, forgiveness, and courage reflects Christ within you. When you live for His glory, even the smallest actions carry eternal weight. Be a light in the darkness, choose joy over fear, peace over anger, and plant seeds of salvation in the hearts of those around you!
11 As a Man Thinketh. Gratitude shifts your mind from what is missing to what has already been given. When you live with a grateful heart, you begin to see abundance instead of lack, strength instead of struggle, and purpose instead of pain. God has given you the power to create with your thoughts, for "as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he" (Proverbs 23:7). Choose to believe that you can do ALL THINGS, because through Christ, you already have everything you need!
12. Be Patient. Lastly, understand that all of live is a journey, a marathon and not a sprint! Understanding God's purpose for you and living in your new identity is a process. Every season, both highs and lows, refines your character and shapes your faith. Trust the process and know that you are becoming who you were always meant to be.
