Adonai (אֲדֹנָי) is the Hebrew title meaning “Lord” or “Master,” a name that expresses God’s authority, sovereignty, and care over His people. In Scripture, Adonai was first used by the patriarchs and later became the reverent title spoken by Israel whenever reading Yahweh’s (יהוה) covenant name aloud, especially during synagogue worship. This practice highlighted both God’s holiness and the deep respect His people held for Him. To call Him Adonai is to acknowledge that He is not only the Creator, but also the One we gladly serve as Lord and King.
At Kingdom Crew™, we chose to honor this name because it reflects both strength and surrender. Strength in knowing He is in control, and surrender in living under His lordship with trust and confidence.
